This sermon contributed to the Good Friday service "LOST" on April 8th, 2012.
The main point is God wants us to go telling the good news for many people still do not know the truth.
Lost and be found is God's desire.
In Matthew 5:13, states we are the salt of the world. Salt is added and making taste to every food it is into. The world is need enlightenment about God's salvation. God had saved everybody through His sacrifice on the cross. He had redeemed us. Of course, children of God takes the role to tell those who are lost this good news. So that the most intimate place which only God can fill, they can know Him and they can receive Him. Salt is important.
It is not always for everybody who does spreading good news must become a pastor. In 1 Corinthians 4:9, we are His spectacle to this world. When you are businessman, employee, or involving in marketplace, you are also His spectacle. And the interesting fact, markeplace is the nearest place of which we can reach lost ones. We can glorify God through our profession. We can save many souls through our job.
Romans 8:19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed (NIV). Children of God is light of this world. To be different people who close to God. To be His messenger whose environment a lot of lost souls. We are called to be different, not to be weird. But to be relevant according contemporary time, such as keep being holy, courtship, etc.
Ps Robert quoted Acts 13:36 that David had served God’s purpose in his own generation.
In David's generation, made war is doing God's purpose. But now? It's not relevant to make war, is it? In David's generation, they praised the Lord with harp, lyre, timbrel, cymbals, etc. But now? It is not relevant to have the instruments while people would say weird.
To be relevant with God's truth in our own generation is God's purpose.
If you eager to serve the Lord, stop putting limitation to your life.
If you pray to Lord asking for being used in every little thing, stop saying I'm not a pastor.
If you want to see your family to receive Jesus, stop being worry and start acting.
God moves when we move.
God does miracles too in market place men.
If you trace back to Bible, most of Jesus service did in market place. Sure, He taught in synagogue.
Most of His disciples are called from market place! Peter and Andreas are fisherman, Matthew is tax collector, etc.
Apostle Paul, one who contributes most of New Testament content, is also a tent maker.
Apostle Luke, who writes Gospel of Luke and Acts, is a doctor.
John C. Maxwell, famous writer for leadership skill books, is extracting ideas from the Bible.
You can glorify Jesus through your business.
